THE BODY REGULATION PRACTICE®

Somatic well-being for:

Understanding your body.

Exploring your nervous system.

Finding new ways to meet stress and change.

The Body Regulation Practice® - 6 weeks of gentle practice and practical tools to calm, reset, and regulate your nervous system.

The Body Regulation Practice® is a programme of somatic (body) well-being experiences for people who want to understand themselves through the body as well as the mind.

Life changes us.

Our relationships change.

Our work changes.

Our families change.

Our health changes.

Our bodies change.

Sometimes, we might feel that something needs to change without quite knowing what.

The Body Regulation Practice® is a space to slow down, reconnect with your body and become more aware of what is happening within you.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF YOU...

  • experience periods of stress, tension or feeling overwhelmed

  • feel that you spend a lot of time in your head and want to reconnect with your body

  • are navigating a period of change or transition

  • want to understand your own responses more deeply

  • are curious about the relationship between body and mind

  • would like practical ways of relaxing and supporting your own well-being

  • are interested in exploring somatic approaches in a supportive small group

  • are wondering what this next stage of life might look like for you

You don't need to have any previous experience of body work, meditation, yoga or mindfulness.

And you don't need to be "good" at any of it.

There is nothing to perform and nothing to get right.

THE SIX-WEEK PROGRAMME

WEEK 1 - Arriving

Understanding your nervous system

We begin by developing a shared language for understanding activation, settling, safety and the body's signals.

Through simple grounding and orientation practices, we'll start noticing what happens in our bodies in real time — without judgement and without needing to change anything.

WEEK 2 - Coming Home to the Body

Developing awareness

We turn our attention towards sensation, movement, posture, tension and physical boundaries.

For many of us, life can become very head-led. This session offers an opportunity to slow down and reconnect with the physical experience of being ourselves.

WEEK 3 - Breath, Change & Identity

Meeting life's transitions

Breath can be a powerful doorway into our experience.

We'll explore breath, sound and gentle movement while considering what happens in the body when we encounter change — perhaps a change in work, relationships, identity, family life or our sense of what comes next. This is an opportunity to explore your experience.

WEEK 4 - Stress, Relationships & Tension

Finding space

Stress doesn't only live in our thoughts. We can experience it physically too.

We'll explore habitual patterns of tension and activation, and notice what happens in the body when we encounter situations that feel demanding — whether through relationships, responsibility, caring for others or simply the pressures of everyday life.

The emphasis is on curiosity rather than analysis.

WEEK 5 - From Reaction to Response

Creating choice

There can be a small but important space between what happens to us and how we respond.

This session explores that space through somatic practice.

We'll notice the relationship between sensation, emotion and action, and explore what it might feel like to have a little more room to choose how we respond.

WEEK 6 - Integration

Building your personal regulation toolkit

We bring together what you've discovered throughout the programme.

Rather than leaving with a long list of techniques, you'll identify the practices that genuinely feel useful to you and create your own simple personal toolkit to take into everyday life.

We'll finish with time to reflect, connect and share tea together.

A SMALL GROUP EXPERIENCE

The Body Regulation Practice is intimate, experiential and compassionate.

We meet for 90 minutes each week for 6-weeks. See times below.

Each session combines a little understanding of the theme, gentle somatic exploration — including gentle movement, breath, grounding and sensory awareness — and time to notice and reflect on your own experience. Everything is invitational. You remain in charge of your own experience throughout. This is a small-group practice, rather than group therapy. There is no expectation to share personal experiences or disclose anything you would prefer to keep private.

ABOUT CAROLINA

The Body Regulation Practice® has grown out of my work as an integrative psychotherapist and my interest in bringing greater awareness to the wisdom of the body into psychological work.

I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist with an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute in London, and I am completing training in Nervous System Regulation. My therapeutic approach recognises that our psychological experience is not separate from our physical experience — that the way we think, feel and relate is also experienced through the body.

The Body Regulation Practice® brings these interests into a community setting, offering an accessible way to explore the relationship between body and mind through somatic awareness, gentle movement, breath, grounding and reflection.

It is an opportunity to slow down, become curious about what is happening in your body, and discover new ways of meeting stress, change and everyday life.
